Celebration for the 4th of July

Fair warning this one my be a little long, but lots of pretty pictures are included.

Ryan and my 4th of July weekend was one of the most the best weekends we have had for months as we both had 3 days off together.  We spent most of the time with his family and our friends.

Friday the 4th
Ryan's parent's had bought a new zero-point turn lawn mower and we each took turns zooming around the yard.  The men were the fastest, but I think we ladies had more class while driving.
And although you may think the earphones were for the noise of the lawnmower they were actually for the giant fireworks that the neighbors were shooting off that made me jump about a foot in the air the first time one went off.  I know I am a scaredy cat.
We did spend about an hour sitting out in lawn chairs watching 3 shows going at once and we didn't have to get stuck in traffic or stay any longer than we wanted, we were already home.

Saturday the 5th

We got a whirl of productivity done and then headed over to our friends apartment to enjoy games, a movie, a swim in their pool and best of all to try out our Homemade Ice Cream Maker!
It is a bit of a process but you will never have ice cream that tastes better or is more anticipated.
We had a blast and I can't help thanking modern technology so I didn't have to crank the mixer by hand they way I would have if I had grown up with my grandparents.  ;)
Everyone was a little excited  for all the fun toppings and they were actually all part of the wedding present we got with the ice cream maker.  Now that was a fun and entertaining gift.

The masterminds and their amazing product.  Best soft serve ever.

My partners in fun - male and female.
Ryan really didn't want to have his picture taken.  Can you tell?

Sunday the 6th
We spent that day back at Ryan's parents but this time the house was overrun by his nephews and niece.
They are such adorable children and are a blast to play with.  If you ever want a work out go take care of these 3 energizer bunnies for their parents.

Here they all are with their grandparents!

You never saw a happier couple.
The toy tractor was the favorite car in the whole place for this little boy and the trailer made it even cooler.

Popping firecrackers with Uncle Ryan and their Dad.
Yes Uncle Ryan was just as excited to pop them and liked to do it between his fingers to show off.
Mom and sister look on with concern.

And who can have 4th of July with out sparklers.

Overall the weekend was a blast, I just wish it could have lasted longer.
